The Zoll AED Plus semi-automatic defibrillator guides the rescuer with the resuscitation process with voice and text prompts. At each step, an icon is highlighted, making it a lot easier for the rescuer to respond during situations of Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

The electrodes have a Realtime feedback functionality and the lay rescuer is guided during the resuscitation situation. The sensor of the electrodes ensures that the compression depth and speed are measured. During the resuscitation, the AED indicates whether resuscitation should be performed making deeper or less deep compressions. The ZOLL AED Plus has a Metronome beep sound that guides the lay rescuer to do 100 to 120 compressions per minute. The chance of survival of the victim is largely related to these two factors.

This defibrillator is a semi-automatic AED. This means that the rescuer must press a button to release the shock.
